Seethapathy G. Saroja, PhD
Pharmacognosist with interests in ethnobotany, plant identification, botanicals trade, and open access.

My Pharmacognosy research focuses on plant identification and authentication using chemical and genomics methods. I work to develop scientific methods for the quality assessment of traded medicinal plants and herbal products. In this research, I utilizes chemical fingerprinting by NMR and HPTLC, and genomics such as DNA fingerprinting/DNA barcoding and DNA metabarcoding. On the other hand, my Ethnobotany research is about dioecious plants, and to understand the people perception on gender in plants. Moreover, I also do research about predatory open access journals, and open access in general.
